When you think about making money with your car, a few things probably come to mind. Luckily, Uber is not the only way to make money with your vehicle. There are a considerable amount of opportunities that don’t involve you becoming a taxi driver. As long as you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone, you’ll find it worth it.
All you’ll need is a vehicle for most of what’s included in this list. Generally, having a relatively newer car will help, but it’s not a deal-breaker. Also, in some cases (as you’ll read about), certain equipment and attributes will make you more suited for some of these opportunities. Most importantly, all you’ll need is an open mind, and maybe a love for driving.

1. Stickr Co
You’ve probably come across a car with advertising all over it. Stickr is a unique opportunity that’ll pay you to put a sticker on your vehicle. It’s a great, passive way to make some money without having to do much work. This is no new idea though. Companies have used cars for advertising for some time now. What makes Stickr different, is you’re only placing a sticker that won’t take up much real estate on your vehicle. You can imagine that advertising can get way more extreme.
Now let’s get to that good stuff. How much many do make with Stickr? Well, in terms of cash, it’s circumstantial. Since Stickr is the middle-man, rewards depend on the sponsors. The cash pay-out usually depends on how well the campaign performs, and how many participants there were. Usually, a gift card will accompany the cash you make.
Rules and requirements may vary from campaign to campaign. One thing you’ll always have to do is verify your decal installation. Simply, take a picture and follow the directions provided and you’ll start earning passive income. Although you may not earn as much as other agencies offer, it’s reasonable for how minimal the advertising is. You can choose to be paid through Paypal or direct deposit.
2. Carvertise
Carvertise is the other extreme we mentioned. If you’re comfortable with getting your car wrapped, you could earn way more than Stickr offers. Carvertise does have a view requirements though. First, you must have a ’08 or newer vehicle, drive at least 30 miles a day, have a clean driving record, and a factory finish paint job. Like Stickr, campaigns will likely depend on your location.
Unlike Stickr, Carvertise pays a standard rate of $100 per month. Opportunities offering more are rare and depend on individual advertisers. Additionally, if you’re able to park and leave your vehicle at a specific location for a certain amount of time; you could earn $30 per hour. Again, you most likely won’t be able to be selective with the campaign offers. However, you’re never obligated to accept an offer if you’re chosen.
At this point, you may be wondering what exactly wrapping your vehicle means. These wraps, according to Carvertise, “are essentially oversized stickers that are made specifically for cars”. They also promise the wraps are very safe and come off clean. Depending on the campaign, the advertiser will either require a full or partial wrap. Partial wraps only take will use the sides of the vehicle and rear window (rear window sticker is transparent). Full wraps take the entire car except for the windshield and side front windows. Lastly, the campaigns can last anywhere from 2-6 months.
3. CitizenShipper
If you’re comfortable with pets being in your vehicle, love to drive, or just love pets in general, CitizenShipper is perfect for you. Although, it is really popular for transporting pets from one location to another. It’s just a transportation service ran by people who need a specific service and the drivers. The company is just the middleman between driver and customer.
With CitizenShipper, you’re the boss. There are multiple ways you can make yourself more likely to be chosen for a job. It’s your choice to complete some of the verification procedures which usually give your account a badge. After your account is polished, you can offer your services (bid) for whatever price you think is right. You can provide any details that’ll make your offer more appealing. Whether it’s how fast you can get the job done, or any special equipment that’ll make you more qualified, it’s encouraged that you market yourself as professionally as possible.

4. Getaround/Turo
Getaround and Turo are both peer vehicle rental platforms. If you’re not using your vehicle and are comfortable with someone else borrowing it, you could earn money with one of these platforms. Both platforms insure your vehicle against theft and physical damages. All you have to do is keep the vehicle road-worthy, set your rate, mileage restrictions, and any other details renters should know.
There is not much difference between these two platforms. However, one might be more prevalent in an area than the other. It purely depends on preference. Renting your vehicle will probably bring on some anxiety. However, these platforms review potential renters before allowing them to rent any vehicle. If you can get around these worries, renting your vehicle could earn you some easy cash or even help you pay down that car note.
